October 24, 2006

Call to Order at 7:01 p.m.

Jan motioned to approve the minutes from the September 26^th meeting, Lori seconded.  Passed 5-0. 

Presentation of ordinance changes to date.

Diane noted that we need to add a historical mixed use district.

Open Forum

Discussion about the communication problem we are having getting our ordinances in line with the county.  There is confusion when the county has record of a parcel being zoned differently than we have it zoned.  We need to improve on this process to ensure that everyone is clear on how a property is zoned.  We also need to finish the zoning map that was started by Dana and make sure that all pieces are zoned correctly on the map.

We discussed a January target for completion of the ordinance modifications.  This could be a problem due to the ongoing effort by Sullivan and Associates to codify the current ordinances.  Jan is going to follow up with them to discuss their progress and our plans for revision.  There is a significant cost to update the codified document and we would like to complete our modifications prior to the completion of their work to ensure that we do not incur this cost.

Another obstacle discussed that could affect this timeline is that we have not yet modified the Comprehensive Plan which it seems should be completed first.    

Diane motioned to adjourn at 7:52.  Lori seconded.  Motion passed 5-0.
