Call to Order at 7:00 p.m.

Jan motioned to approve the minutes from the August 8^th meeting, Jim seconded.  Passed 4-0.

Requests for building permits:

Out building at 6 Meta Lane

Currently doesn’t meet setback standards.  The plan will be resubmitted and we will vote on this request once the ordinances have been met.

Cell Tower Antenna – 679 Hwy D

Us Cellular plans to make use of the existing tower on Hwy D.  They will be adding their equipment to the existing tower

Jim motioned to approve.  Johnny seconded.  Passed 4-0.

Fiddlestix Lot 21

Single family home to be constructed on lot 21 of the Fidedlestix subdivision.

Jim motioned to approve.  Jan seconded.  Passed 4-0.

Review of Ordinances 

The process of revisiting and reviewing the New Melle zoning ordinances has been postponed in favor of determining a plan for how we want to “build” the city.  Once this plan is in place the ordinances will be revisited to ensure that they are written to enable us to reach our goals.

We determined that it would be a good idea to give some thought to how we picture the city looking in the future.  Where we would like to see homes, where will there be businesses, what type of businesses would we like to attract, where might there be a new park.  We can then bring these ideas back to the committee for discussion and start to lay out the new plan.

Additional model ordinances were distributed for review and discussion at the next meeting.

 Johnny motioned to adjourn at 8:30.  Jim seconded.  Motion passed 4-0.
